Ramona Hammel grew up on her father’s fourth-generation family farm outside of Wayland, Michigan. Though she spent part of her life in larger cities, her heart never strayed far from the countryside. The values she learned on the farm—hard work, perseverance, and a love for the land—have remained a guiding force throughout her life and career.

Her passion for the wholesome, down-to-earth lifestyle of farming inspired her to write and publish stories about the Setterington family, honoring the heritage and simple joys of rural living. Now a dental hygienist, Ramona continues to live on her husband’s fourth-generation family farm outside of Hudson, Michigan, where the traditions of family and farming remain an important part of her everyday life.
